C-MORE/HOT: Metagenomic DNA Time Series

     HOT cruise #194-215 – Aug 2007-Sep 2009
Content: Microbial cell fractions (20 L, 1.6μm pre-filter, >0.22 μm) were collected from HOT hydrocasts from Aug 2007 through Sep 2009. Nucleic acids were extracted from the 25 m and 500 m collection depths, and the metagenomic DNA was sequenced using 454 pyrosequencing.

C-MORE/HOT: Metagenomic DNA Depth Series

     HOT cruise #224-238 – Aug 2010-Dec 2011
Content: Microbial cell fractions (20 L, 1.6 μm pre-filter, >0.22 μm) were collected from HOT hydrocasts from Aug 2010 through Dec 2011. Nucleic acids were extracted from the 25, 45, 75, 125, 200, 500, 770, and 1000 m collection depths, and the metagenomic DNA was sequenced with Illumina.

SCOPE 2015 Summer Cruise: Metatranscriptomic (cellular RNA) Diel Time Series

     HOE Legacy 2A – Jul-Aug 2015
Content: Microbial cells (2 L, whole seawater, >0.2 μm) were collected at 15 m every 4 hours from 26-30 Jul and 31 Jul-3 Aug 2015. Nucleic acids were extracted, RNA was converted to cDNA, and subsequently sequenced with Illumina.

Content: Microbial cells (2 L, whole seawater, >0.2 μm) were collected at 15 m every 4 hours from 26-30 Jul and 31 Jul-3 Aug 2015. Nucleic acids were extracted, and DNA was subsequently sequenced with Illumina.
